The public transport systems, particularly in the informal sector, are chaotic. Since the collapse of the Gambia Public Transport Cooperation (GPTC), Gambian commuters have been faced with the difficulty of reaching their regular destinations on time or even at all. This has resulted in students with disability whose parents cannot afford private cars being left with the only option to dropout from school.
