For people living with disabilities in the Gambia, the pandemic has exacerbated existing difficulties, including access to education, health care and mobility.
A pending bill with the National Assembly has the potential to make life better for thousands of persons living with disabilities in the country. The Gambia Federation of the Disabled (GFD) – a 16-member group of disability organizations – has focused much of its time pushing for the passage of this bill, which would create the nation’s first law aimed at disability rights.
