Mobility challenges and experiences for students with disabilities in The Gambia

Transportation has been the biggest challenge for students with disability within The Gambia. The public transport systems, particularly in the informal sector, are chaotic. Since the collapse of the Gambia Public Transport Cooperation (GPTC), Gambian commuters have been faced with the difficulty of reaching their regular destinations on time or even at all. This has resulted in students with disability whose parents cannot afford private cars being left with the only option to dropout from school. TechGilli Foundation plans to raise funds to provide transport solutions for those who are effected by the lack of transport access in the greater Banjul area and the  rural communities.
